History of the Cider Press

The Grace newsletter has been a mainstay of communication for Grace Lutheran Church since its beginning 1964; and it will remain so into the future.

The very first newsletter, News Bulletin, was published October 1964.

Beginning in June of 1965 our newsletter became known as, News Letter.

Ten years later, November 1975, the title changed again to, The Pace at Grace.

November 1986 it was renamed, The Cider Press, with a new logo.

April of 1991, The Cider Press was given a new logo.

January 1994, The Cider Press was given yet another new logo.

The horizontal wavy line of the Grace Lutheran Church logo, represents both the climb up to Calvary and the waters of baptism.  Notice that the lines do not have smooth, straight edges and are not symmetrical..because life can sometimes be rough and uneven.

January 1997, the newsletter, CiderPress, again with a new logo, was first printed off site.

Beginning January of 2011 the Cider Press was first published as a web-based newsletter using a program called Constant Contact—now we receive it by email versus "slow mail."  Instead of checking our mailbox all we need to do is check our inbox on our computer, smart phone or tablet.

There is a big difference in the way it looks—fresh and colorful.  The look may change from one month to the next but the core will remain constant (pun intended).  We continue to receive good news about all the missions of Grace including all of our outreach and youth programs; news from the pastors and parish nurses; the commissions continue to report on upcoming events and opportunities to serve.  We continue to hear the good news about what is happening and the good things planned at Grace.
