Grace Lutheran Church is delighted to begin a partnership with a mission congregation in Guatemala in 2010!  A delegation of members will travel to Guatemala, August 6-14, 2010 and travel around the country to meet with church leaders and form a partnership that will be a mutual blessing for years to come.  Interested in traveling or planning?  Contact Laurel in the church office, 952-432-7273  x114 or by e-mail: l.jacobson@graceofav.org.

Visit to Santa Elena
 

Our Grace delegation has returned safety from their visit to our new friends in Guatemala.  (August 7-14)

Our eight-member delegation included: Erika Cameron, Teresa Drexler, Kyle & Shannon Hoversten, Laurel and Jeron Jacobson, Len Pankuch and Chuck Swanson, as well as Pastor Greg Isaacson from Memorial Lutheran Church in Afton.  They were accompanied by the ILAG Bishop, Padre Horacio Castillo, and Pastor Amanda Olson de Castillo, our St. Paul Area Synod missionary to Guatemala.

Our team left Grace at 4:45 a.m., Friday, August 6 and returned at approximately 10:00 p.m. on Saturday. August 14.

They presented a dialogue sermon during worship Sunday, August 15.  They focused on how they saw God during their time in Santa Elena.

Our travelers will post experiences, pictures, and reflections on their visit to Santa Elena, Iglesia Luterana Agustina de Guatemala (ILAG), the sister synod of our St. Paul Area Synod.
